ChatTab X Privacy Policy

Overview

ChatTab X is a browser extension that lets users join live language chat rooms after opening their own X profile and clicking login inside the extension.

Information the extension accesses

• The extension reads the visible X username from the user’s own profile page only when the user clicks login.
• The extension stores temporary session information locally in the browser so the user can stay connected to the selected room.
• The extension exchanges live chat messages and room presence data with its realtime backend.

Information the extension does not intentionally store permanently

• No permanent chat history is intended to be stored.
• No traditional persistent user database is used for permanent accounts.
• Messages are designed to be ephemeral and visible only to connected users in real time.

How the information is used

• The visible X username is used to identify the user inside live rooms.
• Live messages are transmitted to other users connected to the same room.
• Online user lists are shown only to currently connected users in the same room.

Third-party services

ChatTab X interacts with X profile pages in order to read the visible username after the user clicks login, and it may use a realtime backend provider to deliver live chat functionality.
